Summer coming to an end is the most bittersweet time of the year for me. I love spending the summer months with my kids, but let’s be real, by the end of August I am itching for them to go back. Before they head back, there is one thing I have to make sure to do, though… capture an adorable back-to-school photo!
This is my way of capturing exactly who they were at that moment and it’s so fun to look back at the end of the year and see how much they have grown! Below you will find the cutest first day of school photo ideas, from the classic front door photo to an adorable recreation of one of the most emotional Disney moments ever!
5 Creative First Day of School Photo Ideas
1. Take the Classic Front Door Photo
Have your little one put their tiny adorable backpack on and stand outside your front door for the classic “I’m headed to school!” photo. Bonus points if you add a letterboard!
2. Put the Art Easel to Good Use
If you have an art easel in your house, this is an adorable way to jot down some things about your little ones like their favorite things at the moment and what they want to be when they grow up.
3. Create a “When I Grow Up” Letterboard
It is always so fun to ask kids what they want to be when they grow up, and it changes often so you will want to document the answers!
4. Re-imagine the Toy Story Goodbye
Is anyone else in tears just looking at this photo? What a precious moment!
5. Fill Out the Must-Have Chalkboard
Over the past few years, these chalkboards with fun prompts have become super popular! They take the thinking out of the picture creation since you just have to answer the prompts.
