Unexpected “Wildcard” 3rd Birth Story and Postpartum PMDD Discussion

Maureen spent most of her curious how her “wildcard” third birth would play out. Pregnancy was exhausting but ultimately uneventful. At her 37 week appointment she learned that she was already 5cm dilated, however, spent the next several days in anticipation of labor starting. Eventually things started to happen, and with worries of a quick labor, they headed to the hospital. Maureen was surprised that after being admitted, this ended up being her slowest and most peaceful birth. Despite a brief shoulder dystocia, her daughter was born – big and healthy.
